The Wolfpack
The Great Lakes Wolfpack is an organization that has consistently participated in activities that enhance the well being of young minority adult males. These functions include some of the following:
o Football camp focusing on training, team building and anti-tobacco messages
o Mentoring program at select churches in conjunction with Youth Leaders in Action. This provides exposure to team members with professions as state troopers, Gary Police, teachers, computer technicians, military, accountants, carpenters, business owners, and more.
o Special community programs for male youth through additional funding from the Gary City Council. This program also included earmarked contributions from select businesses in the Gary community.
o Anti-tobacco blitz at Gleason Park reaching team members and other minority young adult males
The Great Lakes Wolfpack Semi-pro football program is a program that is based in Gary, Indiana. This is our third year and we are excited about the program. Our team members have the opportunity to travel to various cities and states. Great Lakes Wolfpack is a heavy participant in community service. The team allows families to have positive activities to participate within the community. We want to provide the opportunity for at risk citizens of Gary and youth/adults in underserved areas, the opportunity to be part of a great football program at an affordable cost by providing adequate support and training, while at the same time building self esteem, physical endurance, and lasting friendships.
