Wolfpack Disappointed, Fueled by Loss

The emotion on the sideline Saturday was frustration as the Wolfpack tried to battle back from an 8-0 halftime deficit.  During the 3rd Quarter, the Chicago Cardinals fought through the tough Wolfpack defense taking a 14-0 lead.
The Wolfpack offense which had struggled through the first half took the field and began to push back against a veteran Cardinal defense that had controlled the field all afternoon.  A brilliant drive, followed by a successful two-point conversion put the Wolfpack back within striking distance for the lead with most of the 4th Quarter remaining.
However, what seemed to be a great Wolfpack defensive stand, turned into more frustration and disappointment for the Wolfpack as the Cardinals Quarterback connected with a lone receiver deep in the end zone for a touchdown.  With the Wolfpack now down 20-8 the offense attempted to repeat their exceptional drive.  Unsuccessful offensively in the final minutes, the Wolfpack defense did manage to hold off a continued Cardinals onslaught.
Even with a dominating the 20-8 loss, Wolfpack owner Ronald White did not seem to share the extreme frustration of his team.  “[The Cardinals] are one of the best teams in the entire country”, said White, shrugging.  This moral victory for the Wolfpack and the many exceptional plays on both sides of the ball are sure to spur them on to another great season.
The Wolfpack challenge the Beloit Titans this coming Saturday in their first road game of the season.

Wolfpack Partner with the Community

The Great Lakes Wolfpack is not alienated from the community.  The homegrown team has partnered with Lake County Minority Tobacco; Circle around Families, local Pop Warner Football, and other local youth programs to help provide fun and affordable entertainment for the community.  The Wolfpack has also agreed to use their halftime to provide a forum to promote tobacco prevention as well as entertain fans with Mascots, Pop Warner exhibition events, music, and on site refreshments.
However, you don’t have to be involved with these organizations to come out and enjoy the excitement of the hometown heroes.  The Divisional Champion Great Lakes Wolfpack invites you to come join them for an afternoon and take a bite out of FUN!
